New youtube short urls support - important

Youtube is now giving shortened urls to videos in the "Share" options. ie:
if you pass this shortened URL, embed.ly treats it as if it's a non embeddable video and shows a picture and the description only. If you go to the video page and copy the url from the address bar, the embed will work.

Using the full URL doesn't help.
Wondering if it's related to videos being unlisted?
This hasn't been updated in awhile, we can't embed videos if they are private and have embedding disabled.
